NCWA February meeting recap: The call, the tools, and a C.L.E.A.R. message

A brief recap of NCWA’s February meeting…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations. (Jeremiah 1:5)
GOD said “Go back to school” as Kim Martinez protested, “No money, no time!”
In the devotional, Kim revealed how GOD miraculously confirmed His command that she would be “doing it by faith.” She clung to that promise during the incredibly difficult years as she balanced roles of wife/mom/student.
Kim encouraged NCWA to remember GOD’s call in our daily walk as writers and speakers. When challenges come – as they surely will – His Word to us will give the strength to persevere.
Peggy King Anderson wielded her hammer, screwdriver, and hand saw for the Write Start presentation: “A Writer’s Tool Box: Ten Essentials.”
From the blueprint (goal setting) to the final spray can finish of “thick skin,” every writer needs a working tool box. Watch for a full post on Peggy’s Write Start in the near future!
“What’s your story in such a time as this?” Gigi Murfitt asked. “Pick up the pen and write, because The LORD has wondrous stories to tell through you.”  With this encouragement to NCWA, Gigi introduced her amazing son and co-author Gabe.
Gabe has been speaking to audiences since he was in 7th grade. Along with his canine friend, Ruthie, Gabe has made television appearances and continues to delight audiences of all ages with his message: C.L.E.A.R. (Read Gabe’s NCWA blog post here).
C = Courage  L = Leadership E = Endurance A = Attitude R = Respect
With Courage to Lead by positive example, Gabe lives out his message every day. His Endurance to overcome by displaying a positive Attitude earns him Respect with peers and the students he motivates in the schools.
Gabe and his family began Gabriel’s Foundation of Hope to help other families struggling to meet needs when medical insurances just aren’t enough.
Gabe’s book, My Message is C.L.E.A.R. will be published soon and Gabe looks forward to reaching even more people with his positive message!
